The 2007 Alonzo Awards event, which honors people, projects and programs that have contributed to the revitalization of downtown San Diego, was held Nov. 8 at the U.S. Grant Hotel.
The 45th annual event honored Herb Klein, longtime vice president and editor in chief of The San Diego Union-Tribune, for his involvement with projects that have had an impact on San Diego’s economic vitality.
Christie’s Place, an organization that helps those affected by HIV/AIDS, received a humanitarian award for its efforts.
Also honored were the following people, businesses and buildings: Terry Arnett, Nikki Clay, Anthology, Smart Corner, DiamondView Tower and Flexcar.
